Intrepid Issues ICF Grants to Third Quarter Recipients
Today, Intrepid was pleased to issue grants to our third quarter recipients through our Ideal Community Fund.
The first grant, given to Make-A-Wish Alabama, will fulfill the wish of a child with a critical illness, providing them and their family with a trip to Disney World.
This grant was issued in support of the organization’s initiative, “Wishes in Motion”, where funds have the most wide-reaching and powerful effect, impacting 141 wishes of the 160 wishes the organization is projected to grant this fiscal year. 60 of those 141 travel wishes are in the North Alabama region.
“Families reported to us that their trip changed their lives by allowing them to catch their breath, forget about the day-to-day reality of hospitals and doctors, and most importantly, simply watch their kid be a kid again,” said Mary Melton, Community Relationship Manager.
Since 2012, Make-A-Wish Alabama has granted more than 1,000 wishes. Thanks to the generosity of our Intrepid Ideal Community Fund participants, we have successfully funded one more wish!
The second grant, issued to Dylan’s Dogs for Diabetes, will provide two children, ages 4 and 2, with diabetic alert dogs.
Dylan’s Dogs for Diabetes is an organization that places and subsidizes the cost for Diabetic Alert Dogs with children who are afflicted with Type 1 diabetes. The nonprofit finds trainers to match with dogs and places them in homes with children who have uncontrolled insulin levels due to Type 1 diabetes. The dogs alert the child and the parents of the child when insulin levels are too low or too high.
We are grateful for the opportunity to support these two wonderful organizations through the Intrepid Ideal Community Fund. Discover more about them at the links below!
