The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes employers who show a dedication to recruiting, employing, and retaining veterans in meaningful careers.

“Being a recipient of the Gold HIRE Vets Medallion Award is an enormous honor for us,” said Deborah Adams, Intrepid Chief People Officer. “It signals to our future veteran applicants that Intrepid is a safe and welcoming place to land after sacrificing so much for our country.”

Intrepid joins 858 other companies from 49 states, plus the District of Columbia, who have shown a commitment to hiring veterans, also ensuring they have a long-term career and growth plan that uses the diverse skills they acquired through their military service.

According to the Department of Labor, about 200,000 men and women transition from American military service to civilian life each year.

“These new career seekers are highly skilled problem solvers,” said Su. “They have a strong work ethic. They are proven leaders. They are diverse. In other words, our nation’s veterans are a huge asset to the American workforce.”

In total, the 2023 HIRE Vets Medallion awardees have hired more than 72,000 veterans in the last two years.

Recipients of the 2023 HIRE Vets Medallion Award meet rigorous employment and veteran integration assistance criteria, including veteran hiring and retention percentages; availability of veteran-specific resources; leadership programming for veterans; dedicated human resource efforts; pay compensation and tuition assistance programs for veterans.
